Luke joined the Pomeroy Living family in the spring of 2019. He’s an Indiana native who graduated from Rutgers University in 2005. Soon after he found his passion for empowered senior living working as a Social Worker and discharge planner for over 11 years before becoming the corporate social services consultant for a large senior living provider, where he gained experience and talent in the areas of operations, training and team building. Since becoming a licensed Nursing Home Administrator in 2017, Luke has continued to approach operations with two core principles: residents’ quality of life should be at the center of all decisions, and continuous improvements in staff education and support lead to continuous improvement in residents’ lives.
Ben joined the Pomeroy Living family in 2020 as the Director of Nursing for Rochester Skilled. He has been a registered nurse for 9 years and has been working in long term care for the past 7 years. According to Ben, “I took a CNA course to see how the nursing field might fit, and I haven’t looked back since!” He feels that long term care has always been an underserved sector in the medical industry, but has the most opportunity for innovation to make facility life more fun/engaging for the residents and staff.
Ben originally started his schooling at ITT Tech, and then on to Walden University for his Bachelors’ degree in nursing. He is in current pursuit of his Masters’ degree is nursing with a goal to become a Nurse Practitioner. He is a Board-Certified Infection Preventionist and has been instrumental in developing policies and procedures throughout the COVID pandemic.
When asked what he enjoys most about his current position, Ben stated “Making the little things happen in the resident’s day that can turn a bad day around. Also, being able to do this for the staff when we can.” In his free time, Ben is a big animal advocate and has 3 rescue dogs at home.
Angela is a CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) and has been a recreational therapist for 18 years. She graduated from Michigan State University. She enjoys her role helping others resume healthy enjoyment in living their best life through recreation and socialization. She and her activities team focus on therapeutic activities that enhance and/or maintain the physical, social, cognitive, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of all our residents. “Our goal is to make the lives of others brighter each day!”
Lili’s passion for Admissions can be traced back to her experience at Pomeroy Living Rochester Skilled Rehabilitation for approximately 2 years. She’s been on the admissions path from the start. The reason? “I love getting people excited about the things I’m passionate about, and right now, that’s Pomeroy Living Rochester Skilled Rehabilitation”. With her healthcare background as a Certified Medical Assistant and Health Service Administration, she’s committed to the continuance of excellent customer service that is provided at Pomeroy Living. “I will continue to uphold the utmost satisfaction, and customer service to residents, families, and health care professionals.”
As a Pomeroy Living medical director, Dr. Salloum stays current with the latest trends in geriatric care and our patients benefit from his 22 years of clinical experience. He received his medical degree from the Damascus University School of Medicine in Damascus, Syria in 1992. Dr. Salloum completed his residency program at Grace Hospital/Wayne State University in 1998.
Dr. Salloum is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He is also a professional member of the American Medical Director’s Association and the American College of Physicians. He has been practicing as a hospitalist since 1998, allowing him vast patient care knowledge and experience. He not only specializes in the care of hospitalized patients, but tends to the medical care of nursing home, assisted living and hospice patients. He also provides care to patients living in senior living communities.
In addition to being a medical director at Pomeroy Living, Dr. Salloum is the medical director of Select Specialty, and he has hospital privileges at St. Joseph Mercy Oakland, Ascension Providence Rochester Hospital and McLaren Oakland. His well-rounded professional training and vast experience help him assess each patient’s needs and assist in the creation of an appropriate medical plan.
