Jeff grew up in Buck Creek, Indiana; a small farming community outside Layfayette.
Having grown up on a farm, Jeff learned early how to fix things with his hands. To this day he finds satisfaction in figuring out how to mend things. Additionally he enjoys the outdoors, BBQing, fishing, birdwatching, hiking and camping near water. Jeff’s love for travel and learning new cultures and foods has taken him to 47 of the 50 states in the U.S. His travels outside the U.S. have included Mexico (five times) and Canada, three times.
Although he worked as a Maintenance Director for 24 years, he felt a career in the health care field would provide more be more rewarding and offer more job security. And this is what brought Jeff to Pomeroy Living for employment. Jeff says, “the thing I love most about my job here at Pomeroy is to make the residents smile after I fix something that is important to them or makes them feel more safe and comfortable”.
Fluid graduated with a Bachelor degree in Human Resources from Oakland University in 2017. He has been working with Pomeroy Living for three and a half years. He enjoys interacting with employees and residents daily. He also is an avid sports enthusiast who loves watching a playing such sports as basketball, soccer and football. When he is not on the field, he likes to travel and explore new cultures.
A Detroit native, Keith was born and raised in Clinton Township. He got his culinary Degree in 2014 from Macomb Community College. Because cooking his passion, creating and preparing delicious food comes easy. At Pomeroy his role is especially rewarding because he loves his residents (who he endearingly calls “his babies”).
Keith attributes his affinity with seniors to the fact he was raised by his grandparents and with great joy.
“I thank my “babies” for letting me serve them”. Keith said. “It is truly a blessing.”
Renee graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree int therapeutic Recreation and Psychology from Grand Valley State University. She met her husband of 30 years in college and has two wonderful children, Jessica, 25 and Mitchell, 18. Her daughter Jessica is married and is expecting her first baby in June! Mitchell is a freshman at Siena Heights University where he was awarded a scholarship to play football. Renee’s husband is a schoolteacher in Rochester Hills.
Renee obtained an Activity Certificate in 2011. She has been working in the field for many years. Her passion is bringing quality life to seniors in their golden years by providing them meaningful and purposeful leisure and recreational activities. Her strengths include an ability to build a rapport with the senior population, creative programming skills and an eye for detail in planning special events and parties. At Pomeroy she works with surrounding communities, local churches, schools, the scouts and more to bring awareness of all the special qualities and possibilities that a life at Pomeroy offers.
Laura has over twenty years of experience the senior living industry. Most recently she lived and worked in Naples, Florida. She has working in leasing for independent, assisted and memory care facilities in both Michigan and Florida. She enjoys learning about seniors’ life histories, saying that her favorite part of her job is meeting and getting to know the people visiting a potential senior community. Laura said, “It is at this at time you get to ask questions about each person’s life journey, their childhood, where they have lived and their unique experiences that make up who they are. After learning what their interests are, you can help they make a decision in choosing the perfect new home. It is very rewarding to know you have helped a senior and their families find the right community for their next home.”
Bridget Burghardt is the Executive Director for Pomeroy Living Rochester Assisted. She believes in creating a family like atmosphere between the residents and the staff. Bridget says “We should treat everyone as if they are our family and as we work closely with them every day, they do become our Pomeroy Family. The same is true in working with our co-workers, if we treat everyone like family and learn to work with and grow from each other. Together our “Pomeroy Living Family” can be a great place to live and work”
Bridget has been working in Skilled Nursing homes for the last 9 years. She feels lucky to have worked with Pomeroy Living for the last year and a half as the Assistant Administrator at Pomeroy Living Sterling Skilled Rehabilitation, and now the Executive Director at Pomeroy Assisted Living Rochester. She is a Certified Dietary Manager and a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator
